In a world that is filled with self-improvement, self-promotion, and self-glory there lacks genuine perspective on the reality that it is not about self. Many times, and I think this is most true in American society, we think that improving oursleves will give us all that we ask for in life. “When I get more money… that degree…that job…that house…that girl…that HDTV (which by the way would be awesome); then all will be well in my life.”
Is improving ourselves what we should be focusing on? Have we lost the greater perspective on what life is all about? Short answer, I think we all know is, yes.
This is my vain attempt to provide perspective on the realities of human existence in relation to God, to the world, to ourselves, and to each other according to the scriptures. What makes me qualified you may ask? Well, nothing makes me qualified. Nothing in me makes me qualified for any good work. In fact, that is one of the reasons for this blog. My hope is that God would use my frailty to draw His sheep unto Himself.
